Donne e Scienza / Women and Science The Association was founded in December 2003 by a group of scientists and scholars from several disciplines. Its main objectives are: to promote women's participation in scientific research; to build an Italian network of women in research in order to facilitate the communication about projects and activities and the circulation of information; to collect documents and information regarding the situation of women in research institutions, regulation and policies; to promote research, organize conferences and other events aimed to an in-depth understanding of the aspects concerning women's subjectivity and experience in scientific research; to promote and facilitate the participation of women in science to national and international events.http://www.donnescienza.it/ Assemblea delle donne per lo sviluppo e la lotta all’esclusione sociale (ASDO) / Assembly of Women for Development and Fight against Social Exclusion Created in 1995, ASDO is a research organisation specialised in the study of contemporary societies from a gender perspective. It has worked on the renovation of the epistemological, theoretical and methodological apparatus of social sciences, and particularly of sociology. This allowed ASDO to carry out training initiatives geared to promote greater participation of women in economic, political and social life, also as regards leadership positions. http://www.asdo-info.org/ Individual Supporting Members Barbara G. Bello Tiziana Casoli currently works for the Neurobiology of Aging Laboratory of the INRCA Research Department. She has research experience in immunohistochemistry and molecular biology of proteins related to neuronal plasticity and metabolism during normal aging and in rat models of neurodegeneration. Se also worked on platelets as a peripheral model for the study of Alzheimer’s disease onset and progression with particular emphasis on the analysis of the conditions which determine Aß production. Lucilla Crosta is specialised in New Technologies and Lifelong Learning with a MSc in Adult & Continuing Education from the University of Glasgow (UK) in 2001. She is about to obtain a PhD in Educational Research and E-learning at the Lancaster University (UK). Currently she is a trainer in Multimedia Pedagogy for the Italian Centre for Teachers’ Training in Psychology and Pedagogy (CIFAPP). She is also a Project Manager at the Kelidon Association for national and European training projects related to new technologies and lifelong learning. Francesca Primas Neeta Sharma - Has completed the first Ph.D degree on Vermicomposting Biotechnology in India at the Indian Institute of Technology (New Delhi). Since 1995, has been working for the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and the Environment, ENEA Research Centre Trisaia (Italy). She has got extensive background in Alternate Energy Sources technologies, agricultural and environmental issues as well as a vast experience concerning long range planning of various research projects and research work evaluation on behalf of national and international organizations.
