The European Platform of Women Scientists EPWS congratulates Prof. Ada Yonath on winning the Nobel Prize for Chemistry 2009. EPWS is delighted that Ada Yonath’s research and tremendous work are appreciated in this way. Her example will also inspire present and future women scientists to engage in science and research.   The Platform and its members still remember Ada Yonath’s very lively and exciting elaborations on her research in her plenary lecture "Climbing scientific Everests against all odds while being a loving parent", given at the EPWS Annual Conference “Women Shaping Science” in Vilnius on 5-7 June 2008.
